The village presents an extensive territory (18 km square) with a succession of valleys and crests.
It has got two little hamlet: Ricca di Diano d’Alba and Valle Talloria di Diano d’Alba.
The tradiction want s that the name has origin from Diana, goddess of huntig both ligurians and romans; on the hill where now there is the village there was Diana’s forest.
Diano is famous for its wonderfull vineyards and its “Belvedere”, the amplest in all Langa. From the high you can admire the winecastles:Grinzane Cavour, Serravalle d’Alba e Barolo.
The point where you can admire the panorama is situated on the ruins of the old castle which was destoyed in 1632 by Vittorio Amedeo I
In a beautiful sunny day you can see the alpine arch ,from the “Colle di Cadibona” to “il passo di Gottarda”., and you can enjoy a wonderful wine panorama ,where on the left side Moscato hills extend,behind the Barbaresco ones and in front of Barolo ones.
